Biking Cevennes

A real pleasure. Without too much trouble you can find quiet roads with a fairly good surface. Variation from light climbs to 900 meter climb mountains. By clicking the routes below, an commentary opens and you can link to a map of the route. GPS data can be downloaded immediately in various formats.

 

A tour, straight through Rochessadoule, with a moderate climb over the Col de Trellis and the Col des Brousses. Not too heavy, nice warmup.

A tour, with a beautiful climb from Chambon. Quiet road with two pieces of 15% or more. Pretty descent from Tarabias to Besseges.

From the hilly / mountainous setting of Mas Bernadis directly to the rolling surfaces of the Ardeche. Not too heavy, nice because of the changing nature of the landscape.

From Mas Bernadis it goes through Besseges and a beautiful climb through the forest to the castle Portes. Through a well-organized descent on the road down. Then a loop over the Mercoriol goes to Saint Florent sur Auzonnet and over the Col des Brousses to Mas Bernadis. Especially scenic route, yet with some nasty climbs.

A tour, with a beautiful climb from Chambon. Quiet road with two pieces of 15% or more. Pretty descent from Tarabias to Besseges. The extra loop leads through a steep climb after the barrage of Senechas back to Besseges.

From the hilly / mountainous setting of Mas Bernadis directly to the rolling surfaces of the Ardeche. Not too heavy, nice because of the changing nature of the landscape. The additional loop leads, after a steep climb, through the still authentic village of Banne.

Total length 58 km, maximum altitude 252 m Total altitudemeters 947 m.

A tour, lightly climbing in the direction of Chateau Cheylard, Aujac. Thence through a steep climb to Bonnevaux and then a good way through a bushy area back to Besseges and Mas Bernadis.

Beautiful ride with a lot of “false flat”. The road to Les Vans leads through a forest to a plateau with stunning views. The way back through Malbosc is mainly through beautiful forests, often with little traffic. Not too heavy, passing many beautiful places.

From the hilly / mountainous setting of Mas Bernadis, “false flat” to Genolhac. The climb begins with a steep section. On top you can make a small detour to the “Mas de la Barque”, where you can take a rest on a terrace. The descent is through Villefort and towards Mas Bernadis some nasty climbs await. A tough journey.

Total length 102 km, maximum altitude 1325 m, Total altitudemeters 2656 m.

A moderate fare. A quiet start to Les Vans on a road with a lot of “false flat” and therefore enough opportunity to enjoy the view. Goes up and down through the woods. The variation makes it a nice ride, but not to be underestimated.

From the hilly / mountainous setting of Mas Bernadis the rolling surfaces of the Ardeche and the river of the same name. Great stretch goes along the Ardeche, with nice views. Challlenging tour, not suitable for the high season. The area is quite touristic and the road is populated correspondingly.

Beautiful ride with not too much height but with a lot of altitudemeters, this along with the distance makes this ride very heavy. For those with a good condition there is enough to enjoy. The southern side of the Cévennes also have their characteristic villages and magnificent viewpoints.

The toughest ride of our collection. Beautifully through the heart of the Cevennes, on mountains where sometimes is snow in March. The well-known places of the Cevennes as the Pont de Montvert are passed by. This trip requires a good physical condition to be able to enjoy it.
